Traditional Shaker Kitchen Overview

We designed and built this beautiful traditional shaker kitchen for Mrs Marshall in Bishopton, Renfrewshire. The kitchen is a Cartmel Shaker in two different colours: dust grey, and light grey. We used solid laminated worktops throughout the project including in the custom breakfast bar – the solid compact laminate worktops have a substantial stone-like weight and durability.

Mrs Marshall stated: “I found Caddisfly Kitchens on Facebook, having seen some kitchen pictures that looked like really high quality. I was inspired to check out the design studio which was near to me, and was really interested to have something custom made. I wanted something a bit more unique and special than going to traditional kitchen suppliers like B&Q. I really love the results and would thoroughly recommend Caddisfly.”

We created a bespoke

five-piece shaker kitchen

in light grey and dust grey.

We designed the kitchen to be incorporated into an extension construction project. This meant integrating with architectural drawings and working flexibly with the client as the project developed and changed. The client sourced flooring and tiling, and as standard arranged for their own fitters.

The process with Caddisfly was great. I picked everything I wanted, and I even changed my mind during the project, as the extension was developing. But the designer at Caddisfly was really helpful and flexible, and was happy to accommodate. We placed the order, but then because our own construction project got delayed, we had to delay our receipt of the kitchen. Again, Caddisfly were very patient and worked with us. The build and delivery went smoothly, and the kitchen was delivered exactly when we needed it. It’s a two-tone grey shaker kitchen, with dark grey and light grey doors. We wanted the subtle contrast, and the light grey was really helpful in the corner furthest away from the windows so it wasn’t too dark. Because we had big doors, we were nervous about the dark grey, but the pre-visualisation drawings put our mind at rest and it worked out really well. We’re delight with the finished kitchen, and I’d strongly recommend Caddisfly.
